3 Gifts Ideas for Her (under $100)
Let's be honest. Giving a gift can feel great, but shopping for a gift sucks. For us guys, choosing a gift for your wife, girlfriend, or crush is stressful.
Most of the time, we just have no idea what she wants. Then, we procrastinate. When you want to stick to a (relatively) modest a budget, things are just miserable.
It is true that the best gift is one that speaks to her, is tailored for her interests and all that..., but here are some mass appealing ideas that will make you look like a gift giving master for only $100 bucks.
1. Get her a fragrance. Do you like that she smells nice? Well that is no accident. She smells that way on purpose. Help her out.
Perfume can get crazy expensive, but they do not have to be.
There are plenty of perfumes (from brands that she will know) that you can score for under $100. Get a small bottle and stick to an "eau de toilette" (EDT). An EDT is going to be cheaper than an EDP and they are often lighter and more mass appealing. If you have time, go to a department store and ask them at the fragrance counter what scents are popular in "her" age range. Dior Poison Girl is a popular mass appealing scent that you can pick up for less than $100. Another example is be Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue for Women and there are many others.
2. Sign her up (and pay for) a monthly subscription service.
This is literally the gift that keeps on giving. Not only will this take you less than 10 minutes to do, you will get credit for it every time she gets that box. That is a win-win.
Avoid boxes that contain clothing. They will be too expensive for the $100 budget and you have no way of knowing if she will like the clothes. Instead stick to make-up, fragrances and, possibly, accessories. There are many subscription services like that, Birchbox and Scentbird to name just two.
3. Get her a "luxury" pampering product. I don't think that I have ever met a woman who had no routine that she goes through at night. They all do. The routines are different, but nearly all of them involve washing their face and moisturizing it. Ask any woman you know. It is true. Getting her something to make that nightly ritual better is a good place to be, right?
You can play this by getting one really high-end item, she will recognize a high-end brand (even if you don't). Brands like La Prairie, Shiseido, Chanel, Clarins, La Mer to name a few. A small one of these is going to eat your $100 budget, but she will recognize it (and it will not be a gift she has gotten many times before). To keep it simple and make sure you are giving her something she wants, I like to stick to the mosterizer.
Number two way to give this gift is to get a "basket" of this stuff. Things like good smelling soaps, fancy face creams, shower soaps, or a scent diffuser. The easiest way to do this is go to department store, beauty store or bath and body store and ask them to put something together for you with your budget. Really, just walk into the store and ask someone to do this for you. Done. Virtually no effort and you gave a creative gift she will love.
